Valea cu Povești (The Valley of Tales)
Located on Strada Aluniș nr. 13, just a short distance from the heart of Bran, Valea cu Povești is a magical theme park where Romanian and international fairy tales come to life. It is an enchanting destination specifically designed for families with children, offering a peaceful and creative escape into the world of legends.
Why your children will love it:
Storybook Cottages: Explore charming, miniature houses dedicated to beloved characters like Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, and the brave Făt-Frumos. Each house is intricately decorated, inviting kids to step inside their favorite stories.
A World of Imagination: Unlike larger, noisy amusement parks, this location offers a "secret garden" atmosphere. It’s a place where children can run freely and let their imaginations soar in a safe, themed environment.
Nature & Relaxation: Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Bucegi Mountains, the park provides a refreshing walk in the fresh mountain air, away from the crowded tourist center.
📍 Practical Information for Guests:
Proximity: Only a 5-minute drive or a pleasant walk from Casa Voinescu.
Best for: Families with toddlers and primary school children (ages 2–10).
Duration: We recommend allowing 45 to 60 minutes for a relaxed visit.
Castle of Horror (or Castelul Groazei) in Bran is a popular "haunted house" attraction located right at the base of the hill where the famous Bran Castle stands. It is an immersive experience designed to deliver a high-adrenaline "jump-scare" journey for tourists looking for something more intense than a historical tour.
Here is a brief description of what to expect:
🎭 The Experience
Themed Walkthrough: Visitors navigate a series of dark, interconnected rooms (about 12 in total). Each room features a different horror set-piece, often blending local Vlad the Impaler legends with classic Hollywood horror tropes.
Live Actors and Animatronics: The attraction uses a mix of motion-sensor animatronics and live actors dressed as monsters or ghouls who jump out at unexpected moments.
Sensory Overload: It relies heavily on strobe lights, thick fog, loud sound effects, and vibrating floors to disorient and startle you.
🧛 Key Themes
The interior features various gruesome scenes, including:
Medieval Torture Chambers: Re-enactments of the brutal methods associated with the "Dracula" legend.
The Throne Room: A dark, atmospheric take on Vlad the Impaler’s court.
Modern Horror: Elements like "mad scientist" labs, zombies, and supernatural creatures.
ℹ️ Practical Information
Location: Situated in the main tourist bazaar/market area, right before the entrance gate to the actual Bran Castle.
Duration: The walk usually takes about 10–15 minutes, depending on how fast you move (or run) through the corridors.
Warnings: It is generally not recommended for small children, people with heart conditions, epilepsy (due to the strobe lights), or claustrophobia.
It is a fun, albeit non-historical, way to spend a few minutes if you enjoy the thrill of being scared.
Looking for family fun? 🎳 Just a 5-minute drive from us, at 'La Lupi' Restaurant, you'll find a great bowling alley perfect for both adults and kids! Enjoy a few strikes, then grab a delicious pizza or a cozy dinner at their on-site restaurant. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed family evening! 🍕🎳

Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Zărnești is the largest brown bear sanctuary in the world and one of the most emotional and ethical wildlife projects in Europe. Located just a short drive from Bran and Râșnov, it offers a powerful contrast to traditional zoos.
🐻 The Mission
The sanctuary was created by the Millions of Friends Association to rescue bears that lived in miserable conditions—caged at restaurants, gas stations, or circuses across Romania. It is a place of rehabilitation, not entertainment; the bears are finally given the chance to live a dignified life in a natural environment.
🌲 The Experience
Natural Habitat: Spread over 69 hectares of oak forest, the sanctuary provides the bears with large enclosures, pools for bathing, and trees to climb, all protected by specialized fencing.
Educational Tours: You cannot wander the sanctuary alone. Visitors must join a guided tour (available in English) where you learn the heartbreaking but hopeful stories of individual bears like Maya or Max.
Animal Welfare First: Unlike a zoo, the bears' needs come first. If a bear wants to hide in the forest and not be seen, they are free to do so.
ℹ️ Practical Information (Crucial for Visitors)
Tickets: You must book online in advance via their official website (see below). Tickets sell out quickly, especially in the summer.
Strict Rules: Children under 5 years old are generally not allowed for safety and noise reasons. Smoking, loud noises, and feeding the animals are strictly prohibited.
Schedule: Tours usually take place only in the morning (between 9:00 and 11:00 AM) to allow the bears to rest for the remainder of the day.
📍 Location
